Daily Maths Lessons

Children receive a daily maths lesson at Lansbury Bridge. The lessons take account of children’s IEP targets and also the next step in their learning.

Each lesson should promote enjoyment and enthusiasm for learning through practical activity, exploration and discussion. Lessons may deal with numbers, for example counting how many cartons of milk are need for a class; measuring, for example measuring the length of the sports hall using a trundle wheel; shape, for example, matching all the triangles in a group of shapes; space, for example, finding the missing angle in a triangle; statistics, for example, creating a block graph for different coloured eyes in a class; solving problems, for example, working out the profit made in the tuck shop!
